A STUDY OF LIPID PROFILE IN ANAEMIA

Objectives:Both anemia and dyslipidemia are widely prevalent public health problems, especiallyin the Indian population. Associationof dyslipidemias were reported in some individual experimental animals. The study was planned to find thechanges serum lipid profile adult patients with anemia. Material methods:100 cases of (hemoglobin <13 g% men <12 women), 100 age sex matched healthy controls, group 18-40 years investigated for any possible changes i.e.,triglycerides, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein very low cholesterol. Results:The mean cholesterol 122.47 ± 29.32 mg/dl, whereas controls 160.43 38.91 mg/dl. triglyceride level 89.41 33.1532 mg/dl control 111.45 40.6632 Mean high-density levels 36.13 12.8132 anemic 45 13.032 group, low-density (LDL) 70.12 21.64 100.45 30.8032 group. VLDL higher (21.96 8.132 mg/dl) compared (18.34 7.6432 mg/dl). Conclusion: Lipoproteins significantly abnormal as non-anemic subjects.
